OM Films is a production company located in Johannesburg, South Africa. This company was legally registered in 2014, but as a brand – has its founding days dating all the way back to 2009, through township/rural weddings in Tlhabane, Rustenburg. By 2011, the work began being branded and to date, now has become a growing film brand within the film and entertainment industry.
OM Films is actively owned, run and managed by Ofentse and Nelisiwe Mwase, a married couple who are passionate about business and family. Ofentse Mwase is a Music Video Director and qualified Cinematographer by profession. Nelisiwe Mwase is a writer, Producer and short film actress, under the company. Both are qualified Film degree qualification holders. Ofentse Mwase holds a BA Hons. Degree in Cinematography and Nelisiwe Mwase has a BA Degree in Motion Picture Medium.
OM Films currently has 8 active employees, with a 50/50 gender split in the work force.
To date, Nelisiwe and Ofentse Mwase have been selected as part of the 8 South Africans to represent South Africa in the Youtube Black Voices Creators, class of 2021. There are a total of 112 Black creators selected globally for this initiative.
Ofentse Mwase is currently a brand ambassador for Sony Digital, due to his extensive work in digital media through Sony DSLR cameras throughout his cinematography career.
